With India assuming the G20 presidency, it prepares to host the G20 Leaders’ Summit for the first time in 2023. The education ministry is making preparations for the various events that will take place.

1. University Connect Outreach Campaign
The ministry has launched an outreach campaign called University Connect. It aims to involve young people in India’s G20 presidency. As part of this campaign, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has written to universities and colleges, requesting that they begin preparing students for conferences and other events related to the G20.

The UGC has asked students to serve as facilitators for foreign delegates, provide translation assistance, and organize cultural shows, workshops, and lectures on topics related to the G20.

It has encouraged students' participation in poetry, quiz, and logo competitions being organized by the G20 Secretariat.

2. Showcasing India’s Educational Heritage and Traditions
The Indian Knowledge System (IKS) division, an innovation cell within the All India Council for Technical Education, will showcase India’s knowledge systems to the world.

It has invited for the creation of four documentaries highlighting India’s educational heritage, agricultural practices, and water management traditions.

It is expected that at least 15-20 venues across India will be featured in each documentary. ∎
